This started as a temporary blog, somewhat of a public journal to share my thoughts from my scripture study for the year. Since then, I’ve continued using it to share what I learn about our Savior and Advocate, Jesus Christ.
Why “Our Advocate”?
The title “Our Advocate” was inspired by this article from the Liahona magazine: 115 Names and Titles of Jesus Christ. The first name of Jesus that is listed is Advocated with the Father. As our Advocate, He publicly fights for us and our salvation because He loves us.
The more I thought about this, the more I thought of Jesus’s words in the New Testament where He said:
“Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.”
Matthew 10:32
This is a call from Jesus for us to be His advocates. As we come to know Him and His love for us, He wants us to share that knowledge with our fellow brothers and sisters on this Earth. We need to speak up, to become His public supporters, and make sure everyone has a chance to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ. This blog is one way I hope to do that.
