“Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield.”
Genesis 15:1
Jesus gives us protection, both physically and spiritually. He knows that we live in a world that can be scary and dangerous at times. He doesn’t expect us to face it on our own.
While ministering in Galilee, Jesus and and His disciples would often travel by sea. When their boat got caught in a dangerous storm, Jesus “rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.” (Mark 4:39)
Jesus protected those in the boat with Him. When we put our trust in Him and are in “His boat”, we can rest assured that He will keep us safe, too.
“Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.”
Proverbs 30:5
